Surgical Services
The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive surgical care for same day surgery patients and patients requiring an overnight stay at the Medical Center. Our Surgery Center includes eight state-of-the-art surgical suites outfitted with some of the most sophisticated surgical equipment available. During surgery, high-quality images and patient data can be viewed on flat screen monitors and shared with medical consultants at remote locations. Two of the surgical suites are equipped with laminar flow ventilation which provides an added layer of protection against infections during sensitive orthopedic procedures. In fact, the design of our Surgery Center was so advanced when it was built that visitors from across the country and as far as the Middle East came to tour our Center.
Surgery patients have the convenience of one centralized location for pre-admission testing, surgery and recovery. Patients recovering from surgery are monitored in an expansive 21-bed area that is designed for enhanced patient care and comfort.
A dedicated staff of physician assistants, registered nurses, certified operating room registered nurses and certified surgical technologists work closely with our surgeons in various specialties. Milford Regional recognizes that the latest, state-of-the-art surgical equipment means very little if the quality of our physicians, nurses and staff are in any way lacking. We take extraordinary measures at Milford Regional to hire nurses and staff with solid credentials and experience. We maintain our high standards of care by investing in our employees through an ever-vigilant staff education department. The same can be said for our physicians. The medical staff at Milford Regional takes great pride in their diligence, as well as the medical staff office, to thoroughly scrutinize the qualifications and credentials of any physician applying for privileges.
