Milford Regional Medical Center has rightly earned the reputation as a pioneer in maternity care. We were the first hospital in Massachusetts to incorporate LDRP suites into our Maternity Center where moms could labor, deliver, recover, and receive post-partum care in the same room.

More recently, we added a new wing that houses private postpartum rooms which provide a peaceful, quiet area ideal for moms following delivery or for those with scheduled C-sections.

In addition, we have two operating rooms that are specifically designed for mothers whose babies will be born by cesarean section.

Our birthing beds adjust to a variety of positions to ensure maximum comfort, and whirlpool labor tubs are available in several of these rooms to help moms manage their labor better. Plus, because our Maternity Center has wireless telemetry, moms can feel free to walk the floor knowing their baby is being continually monitored. When it comes to eating, moms are guaranteed to be pleased with our new dining program that allows patients to order food from an extensive menu anytime of the day between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Soon after your baby is born, he or she will be examined by one of our pediatric hospitalists. A pediatric hospitalist is a pediatrician who works exclusively in hospitals caring for newborns and children admitted to the hospital. Milford Regional has partnered with Boston Children’s Hospital to bring the expertise of one of the nation’s top ranked hospitals in pediatric care closer to those living in Metrowest and Central Massachusetts. All of our pediatric hospitalists are Boston Children’s physicians.
