Pediatric Radiology

If your child is scheduled to receive radiologic procedures, you can choose your child’s procedure from the list below to learn more about what to expect. You may also speak with your physician.

Pediatric CT (Computed Tomography)

Pediatric Ultrasound

Pediatric Voiding Cystourerthrogram

Pediatric X-ray - Upper GI

Exams can be performed on children based on the age criteria below:

  • CT – Any age
  • MRI – age 8 and older
  • Ultrasound
    • Infant hips and spine 3 weeks to 6 months. 
    • General ultrasound studies (including renal) – Any age. 
    • Vascular US (DVT ONLY) – Any age
  • X-ray – Any age
  • Fluoroscopy
    • Upper GI age 8 and older,
    • Lower GI and GU age 18 and older
  • Nuclear Medicine (bone scans for spondylolysis) – Age 13 and older. 

Please note that we do not sedate any children for imaging exams.  If you have any questions, please call us at 508-422-2931 and select the prompt for the department you would like to speak with.

Pre-Registration

Patients should call to pre-register up to two weeks in advance for any scheduled surgery and out-patient appointment including most diagnostic tests, lab work and pre-operative testing. This eliminates the need to wait for an admissions representative upon arrival. Patients can go directly to their point of service. Admissions representatives are available to take calls from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
