Cancer Center oncology floor where patients receive treatment

Cancer patients helped design the Cancer Center, including Dana-Farber’s  medical oncology area on the second floor of the Cancer Center (shown above.) The spacious and light-filled space includes 22 private or semi-private chemotherapy rooms, three isolation rooms for patients with weakened immune systems and a pleasant nutrition area with a dedicated registered dietician who specializes in cancer-specific nutritional therapy.

The Cancer Center lobby is filled with natural sunlight.

Patients and visitors to the Cancer Center are welcomed in a light-filled lobby.

A new state-of-the-art Milford  Regional laboratory, located on the second floor of the Cancer Center, provides rapid turnaround  on analysis of blood and other samples.

The Cancer Center Resource Room

 

A resource room, located on the  second floor of the Cancer Center  and overlooking the main campus of Milford Regional, provides educational and  reading material for patients and visitors.   The open concept of the Resource   Center allows patients and visitors  to easily take a book, magazine or brochure back to a comfortable chair.

Cancer patients no longer need to travel long  distances to receive the very best in radiation oncology services. The expertise provided by Brigham and Women’s  in radiation oncology is available in the Cancer Center at Milford Regional Medical Center. This linear accelerator provides targeted radiation or total body irradication.

Continuing to build on its  diagnostic imaging strengths, Milford Regional provides services at the Cancer Center to diagnose and track cancer treatment through diagnostic radiology, ultrasound, computerized tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and nuclear medicine tests such as positron emission tomography (PET) CT  scans.

These services are located within the Cancer Center, providing patient convenience and allows clinicians to initiate treatment quicker and track results more efficiently, improving the continuity of care.
