Behavioral Health
Patients needing emergency assistance for a mental health issue or substance use problem at Milford Regional’s emergency department will have an initial medical evaluation by our board-certified emergency physicians including medical history, physical exam and any necessary testing. Patients are cared for by our behavioral health team of nurses and patient safety assistants.
When medically stable, patients will be provided an evaluation by a licensed mental health counselor or social worker who can assist with referral to the appropriate inpatient or outpatient treatment programs. Patients requiring inpatient psychiatric care await transfer to the appropriate inpatient psychiatric facility in our dedicated 10 bed secure behavioral health area.
For help with drug, alcohol or opioid use, go to our Substance Use Disorders page.
