Vice Chair of Network Operations, Radiation Oncology, Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center at Milford Regional Medical Center
I believe my greatest strength as a physician is being an advocate for my patients. I have been fortunate enough to be a leader in the field of prostate cancer and this helps me shape and influence policies and programs, not only locally for my patients but nationally and internationally for patients everywhere.
I am passionate about patient education and work tirelessly to educate physicians and patients alike on the presence of our facilities in the community and stress the high quality, state of the art care which is provided here. Forging relationships with our referring and collaborating is one of my most relished tasks as the Vice Chair of Network Operations for the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Centers and is one that I consider to be a vital part of providing the best care possible to our patients.
I am truly blessed to wake up every morning excited to face the challenges of helping my patients. I honestly do not identify what I do as a job, as it is a blessing to be privileged with the opportunity to help patients as they face the challenges that cancer can bring. I enjoy interacting with my patients and learning their individual life stories, as we are all more than our diagnosis. There is richness in sharing experiences and helping patients on their journey through treatment to recovery.
I treat men with genitourinary malignancies with all types of radiation therapy, however, I also subspecialize in prostate brachytherapy. I began to develop an expertise in prostate brachytherapy while I was in radiation oncology residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. I was fortunate to be trained where modern prostate brachytherapy originated and was afforded the opportunity to be mentored and trained by the luminaries of prostate brachytherapy.
