Like so many of us, my career in medicine has evolved over time. My initial intent was not to practice primary care, but now, I cannot imagine doing anything else. I love getting to know and caring for my patients and their families in the community I grew up in.

My hope is that my patients feel comfortable enough with me to be honest so I am then better able to help and care for them. In training, a physician told me that your patients know what is wrong with them, they just have to feel like they can explain it to their doctor who can piece it all together. I share my own stories and experiences to help my patients share their story of their symptoms and concerns. Most importantly, is offering workup and treatment options and talking with my patients to put together a reasonable plan taking severity of the concerns, potential for acute complications, financial concerns, and risk into account.

I think listening to my patients and following through on concerns and illnesses are a couple of my strengths which have blessed me with numerous long term patients.

I love spending time with my family - my parents, sister, husband and son. My son and I especially love winter sports including sledding, snow shoeing and skiing!
