Milford Regional Medical Center Updates Masking Guidelines in Clinical Care Locations
Effective immediately, all Milford Regional healthcare personnel will be required to wear a facility-issued face mask in direct interactions with patients in clinical care locations. This includes when entering a patient room or bay or other locations where care is delivered (e.g., examining a patient on a stretcher).
Patients and visitors are strongly encouraged to wear a facility-issued face mask when interacting with healthcare personnel in clinical care locations.
This decision is based on the COVID-19 Planning Committee’s close monitoring of several trends, including the number of employees out of work with COVID-19, the number of inpatients with COVID-19, the percent of positive tests in the community for COVID-19, and the wastewater COVID-19 data. We will continue to monitor these trends in order to de-escalate our use of masks as soon as appropriate. Although this change was not unexpected, we appreciate your flexibility with the modified masking requirements at this time.
