Milford Regional's President and CEO Ed Kelly Selected Among Central Massachusetts "Power 50"

Milford Regional Medical Center President and Chief Executive Officer Edward J. Kelly was selected as one of Central Massachusetts’ “Power 50” by the Worcester Business Journal. The list reflects the editorial team’s determinations of the most influential professionals to Central Massachusetts’ economy in the last 12 months. The 2022 “Power 50” list was published on May 2.

Kelly, who has served the hospital industry for nearly 40 years, was honored in the category of health care. Other categories recognized in this year’s list include manufacturing, higher education, money and influence, technology, real estate, arts and culture, community development and nonprofits. Vice Chair of the Milford Regional Board of Trustees Anthony Consigli of Consigli Building Group was also honored, in the category of real estate.

“The entire Milford Regional community is proud of Ed’s selection to this influential list. We are grateful for Ed’s many years of leadership at Milford Regional, and his talents have particularly shown during the past two years of COVID-19 challenges. Ed is a thoughtful and compassionate leader, who has successfully leveraged his steady business acumen to lead our community to new and innovative growth,” said Milford Regional Board of Trustees Chair, Laura A. Mann, Esquire.

Kelly was appointed as president and CEO at Milford Regional in 2016, following eight years as president. He also served as executive vice president from 1998 to 2008 and Chief Financial Officer from 1993 to 1998. He holds an MBA from Bentley University and a Bachelor of Science from Babson College.

Aside from his recent guidance in pandemic times, highlights of Kelly’s three decades of leadership at Milford Regional include overseeing a $54 million, three-year  renovation project (new ED, ICU unit, and other inpatient renovations) completed in 2015; the creation of the medical center’s affiliated physician practice group (currently Milford Regional Physician Group); the clinical affiliations with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital and key collaboration related to the construction of the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center in Milford; as well as brokering Milford Regional’s additional affiliations with Boston Children’s Hospital and UMass Chan Medical School.
